Christine's Graphic Batik

Just wrapped up the quilting on this graphic batik quilt. Quilted with "Swirls' using a very subtle gray variegated, perfect for its recipient - her college student nephew.

Quilt from my Block

I also made a quilt of the blocks in the Quilting Treasures holiday fabric that I sent along to Quiltmaker for their gallery. I was very pleased with the way it came out. I love when quilts have a very graphic presence - must be the NQA Certified Judge in me peeking out - and this one does. The dark fabrics in the collection provide a lot of contrast and with their gold sparkle, give the piece lots of holiday dazzle.Enjoy!

Quiltmaker's Block

Here's my versatile block - great to use for fussy cutting that beautiful fabric you can't bring yourself to cut up. I used a holiday fabric collection from Quilting Treasures that I just love - great variety and has one of my all time favorite fabric styles for the holiday - a plaid! This plaid even has gold in it. I cut the plaid on the bias to give it more interest.

Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks

Arrived home from a week at A Quilter's Gathering in Manchester, NH to find my adorable Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks mug and quite a nice pile of the magazine waiting for me. So much fun to cruise through the magazine and see all the beautiful blocks and find mine.  Here's a bit of a preview of my block hiding under the mug.
Looking forward to sharing more pictures of my block and tell you about my design process I use and the wonderful Christmas fabric collection I used.

Scrappy Star @ A Quilter's Gathering

Full day Scrappy Star Quilt here on the last day of A Quilter's Gathering! Stop by the "Frost" classroom and see the 6 sample quilts and the students hard at work on their own creations. Had a delicious Hungarian dinner at LaLa's last evening, goulash with all the trimming - what a wonderful family restaurant. They even had gluten free pastry desserts, had to have a chocolate "salami" - completely decadent.
Heading home after the class to get ready for being on tomorrow's Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Blog Tour. Hope to see you there!
